Athlete of the Week – Regan Righetti

If patience and a solid work ethic is the receipt for a successful indoor season, then this week’s Athletes of the Week are prime examples of what it takes.  In only her second season with the track club, Regan Righetti has made huge strides in competing in her favorite field event, the shot put.  Always early, and never late to practice she continues to make huge strides in improving in her throwing event.

A junior at Emerge Home School, Regan enjoys being actively involved in a number of extra-curricula activities, including her 4-H program with her brother, Gage.  Her favorite food is chicken enchiladas and her favorite past times include writing and taking in some yoga to help wind down from a busy day.  While she enjoys listening to just about any kind of music, her favorite song is “Love Bites” by Def Leppard and she spends a lot time with her best pal, Koda Bear the family dog.
Regan’s favorite athlete is world record holder and Olympic gold medalist in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 4 x 100 meter relay, Jamaican super star Usain Bolt.  Her favorite part of the indoor season is overcoming personal goals she sets during practice sessions.  Having the ability to stay focused and complete a good throwing movement that she’s been struggling with is very exciting for her.  Her current goal for the indoor season is to lay a solid foundation this year so she can reach a strong mid 30-foot mark in 2019.
Keeping working hard Regan — your awesome!
