Athlete of the Week – Carson Bain

In his first year with the Bozeman Track Club, Carson Bain put himself on the radar for the throwing events while competing in the USATF Montana Junior Olympic track & field championships last weekend in Bozeman.  In the boy’s 15-16 age division, Carson won silver in the shot put (32’8″) and bronze in the discus with a throw of 70′-4″.

A freshman at Bozeman High School, Carson enjoys his favorite past time snack of cheeseburgers and sunflower seeds after a long session of playing video games.  As far as a favorite pet, he is hard pressed to pick one as his favorite with eight of them to choose from.  Carson’s favorite song is “Blue Ain’t Your Color” by Keith Urban and favorite band is the Zac Brown Band.

His favorite athlete is American football defensive end for the Houston Texans of the National Football League, J.J. Watt.  Carson’s goal for the summer outdoor season is to give it his all and beat all throwers in his age group.  This past year he received the Presidential Award for Academic Achievement and looks forward to a summer packed full of enjoying the outdoors.
